We have found that our special Sailability sailing dinghies are most suitable for beginner sailors. These small, stable boats are a great way to learn sailing – as has been demonstrated by students from local primary schools.
Newhaven Yacht Squadron invites all members of the public to the opportunity to ‘have a go at sailing’, when several days with appropriate tides have been selected over the summer months – subject to suitable weather forecasts.
Life jackets will be provided; but you can bring your own if you have one. 2 motor safety boats accompany and support the dinghies.
A parent or grandparent will need to accompany each child.
The best age to start is 10+ years old. Younger kids will get a ride in the safety boats.
The possible dates are:
– December: Sunday 9th at 12:30 p.m.; Monday 10th at 1:30 p.m.
– January 2019: Friday 4th at 9:00 a.m.; Sunday 6th at 12:00 p.m.; Monday 7th at 12:00 p.m.; Tuesday 8th at 1:00 p.m.; Monday 21st at 1:00 p.m.
It is essential that you register your interest with Alen Garrett at email firstname.lastname@example.org . Alen will contact you a day or so before, once the weather is ‘known’, to let you know which days are being used.
If you’ve ever thought, “I would love to know more about sailing,”; there would never be a better opportunity to experience it with your kids than these easy-to-sail dinghies provide. We can guarantee enjoyment and first-time success.
