About Newhaven Yacht Squadron

Nestled behind Cape Woolamai is the fishing hamlet of Newhaven, where the Newhaven Yacht Squadron officially came into being in February, 1962 In the early days the club was a strong dinghy club, in fact it hosted the first National Cherub Championship in 1962. Over the years the club has grown and developed from its humble beginnings. The club currently has over 600 members while still maintaining its friendly and welcoming feeling. We cater for sailors, both keel boat and off the beach yachts, and power boat owners.

The stunning marina

Our picturesque marina, with 188 berths, is the only marina on Phillip Island and provides an all weather, safe haven for boats from 6 to 12 metres. Smaller yachts and power boats access the marina directly from Bass Strait through the eastern entrance of Westernport by passing under the San Remo Bridge.

We have visitor berths available for overnight stays as well as permanent berths of various sizes for our members for our members, including a boat maintenance yard with slipping facilities.

Our beautiful clubhouse

Newhaven Yacht Squadron has a well appointed and positioned clubhouse overlooking our stunning marina, nestled behind Cape Woolamai on the northern coast of Phillip Island.

Featuring modern facilities, a large function room as well as an outdoor BBQ area, the clubhouse accommodates our 600 members and hosts many sailing and social events throughout the year. We also have a well equipped maintenance yard and a private boat ramp available to our members.
