BOATING SUBCOMMITTEE REPORT
An Introduction to Racing information session will be held on Saturday 17 August. This will be hosted by Chris Wilson and Matt Draper after the Winter Series Race 6.
The Subcommittee is seeking another power boat member to join the Boating Subcommittee. Anyone interested is asked to contact Chris Wilson.
It is hoped that the Round Phillip Island Motor Boat Cruise can be scheduled to coincide with the sailing Twilight Race on Saturday 11 April 2020.
There has been an inquiry from the Australian Arrow and Cobra Yacht Association about conducting their championship event at NYS. Further discussions will follow.
A couple of people new to boating have been in communication with Chris to seek assistance with improving their boating skills.
The Events Calendar has been updated and is on the Squadron website. Sailability dates will be included in the near future.
The Sailability Program for 2019-20 is being prepared. The Golden Oldies event and the Social Inclusion Day will be postponed to February 2020.
SAFETY OFFICER’S REPORT
A session on the proper use of flares will be conducted later in the year.
COMMUNICATION & PROMOTION REPORT
The Winter magazine will be published in late August.
The Summer magazine will have a focus on children’s boating activities. Members will be encouraged to provide e.g. articles/photographs depicting their children/grandchildren involved in boating/fishing; children’s own accounts of these; children’s ideas on how the Squadron might cater better for them; …..
A members’ survey will be conducted to help determine what to offer for the future.
A letter of resignation from the Committee by Mark Szutta was accepted.
The security cameras have been installed and are working.
