Kids Fun Day at the Marina

Come and enjoy a family fun day comprising fishing, sailing, eating and socialising.  Our Kids Fun Day is a great opportunity to try to catch a fish in the marina (you’d be surprised know what fish are in it), and to try out sailing in our new Hansa sailing dinghies (very safe and ideal for the novice sailor).

Please note that children are required to be accompanied by parents or grandparents.

Come prepared for summer weather i.e. bring sunscreen and wear sun-smart clothing with hats.

THE DAY’S SCHEDULE:

Fishing in the Marina: from 10:00 a.m. to midday
Bait and fishing gear provided; or bring your own gear to use, or if you want advice on how to set it up.

Our best fisherman will show us how.

Lunch
A sausage sizzle lunch will be provided.

Dinghy Sailing: from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00p.m.
We will be sailing in our special Sailability dinghies.  These easy-to-sail dinghies are designed for novice sailors and for people with disabilities.  They seat 2 people; so you can be supported by an experienced sailor.  The fact that these dinghies are unsinkable and virtually impossible to capsize enusres the first-time sailor experiences a successful and positive sailing experience.

The dinghies will be escorted and assisted by our club safety boats.

Life jackets will be provided; but you are most welcome to bring your own if you have one.

Children (and adults) 10 years and older can sail the dinghies; younger kids can ride in the safety boats.
