Overview of Newhaven Yacht Squadron
The Squadron
- offers the facilities and membership base to run regular competitive sailing and fishing competitions as well as social cruising, sailing and fishing all year round
- affords members a rich and rewarding community through regular social get-togethers and events
- encourages members with training to reinforce the competence and knowledge to safely participate in our chosen sports
- makes its club facilities available to other local community groups
- proudly supports our local disability community by facilitating on-water activities through our active involvement in Sailability Victoria
- The club has over 500 members. The club has a full range of on-water activities as well as social events, with a Relaxed weekly get-together most Saturday evenings.
- We are an incorporated association overseen by a committee of management. Our office is staffed part-time each week.
The stunning marina
Our picturesque marina has 187 berths. It is the only marina on Phillip Island and provides an all-weather, safe-haven for boats. The marina is directly accessible from Bass Strait through the eastern entrance of Westernport by passing under the San Remo Bridge. Note: There is an air-draft limitation on the bridge that may affect some larger yacht – the western entrance has no air-draft restrictions.
We have visitor berths available for overnight stays.
The marina also offers permanent berths of various sizes for our members. A staffed, boat maintenance yard with slipping facilities.
The squadron has a private boat ramp.
Our beautiful clubhouse
Newhaven Yacht Squadron has a well-appointed and positioned clubhouse overlooking our stunning marina.
Featuring modern facilities, a large function room as well as an outdoor BBQ area, the clubhouse accommodates our members and guests for social events throughout the year.
Shower facilities and relaxation areas are available to all members, berth holders and casual berth occupants.
